Fashion trend: Pretty Pastels

It’s true what they say; all things old become new again. And isn’t that true for the timeless, ever-so feminine and beautifully classic pastel trend.

Pastels are still going strong, ladies!  Rock the pastel trend this spring. Pastels are a simple yet playful colour palette to keep in your closet for the upcoming season. Pastels go hand-in-hand with Spring/Summer, with their light and airy vibe — and they are huge on the trend scene this season!

Pastel colours are soft and warm, very feminine and classy if combined the right way.
Don't be shy of incorporating mint/seafoam, pastel yellow, lilac and blush into your spring wardrobe.

If you’re worried about piling on pastels and looking like a garden party or a Easter egg, then pair it with black blazer or even biker jacket. It adds a rough edge that’s perfectly balanced between sweet and tough.  When it comes to pastels, it’s not that hard to match pastels with other colours because you can either pair it with a contrasting colour or with basic colours such as black, white and beige. If you prefer to be on the safe side, then pair them with basic colours. You could never go wrong with basic colours.

One of the easiest ways to wear pastels is wearing prints, if you prefer not to go for an all over print choose one pastel printed item such as a skirt and team this with a neutral coloured top with no print! You can separate an all over pastel outfit by keeping neutral shades in your accessories. Turn to tan or grey in particular with belts, shoes, handbags and hats. These break up the colour and help you avoid looking washed out.

You can never go wrong with denim, and pairing your pastel top with a pair of jeans, it adds a touch of sweetness and modernity to the look. A darker wash will give it a more formal look, so if you want something more fresh, a lighter wash like chambray will do the trick.

And when it comes to accessorizing your spring outfits, the pastel palette allows you to introduce a refreshing twist to your attire. Combine pastel outfits with mixed metal accessories or jewelry with pastel hued stones.

Trend Leather / PU

Who doesn’t love leather? Leather (or faux leather) is one of those timeless materials that will never go out of style. Whether real or faux, the trend can add edge to any outfit.  Now that designers are treating leather as if it were fabric—dyeing it in punchy colours, cutting it into feminine shapes, and draping it in novel ways, Paper-thin hides, as well as hidden slits to keep you feeling (and looking) cool.

Now leather is working across the seasons.  Lighter weight leathers and in lighter hues will of course be ideal, but your black pleated leather skirt is a hot item to have, even in spring.
This isn't a heavy head-to-toe rock 'n' roll look.  Leather is so easy to wear and can be worn in many different styles, shapes and colours.

Go for classically cut pieces you can transition. Highwaisted shorts, loose-fitting tops in bright hues and skirts are perfect for office days or date nights.

Wear Leather in Small Doses. Leather is ultra sexy, and it is great for a night out on the town where you know there will be a cool nights breeze or going in and out of air-conditioned buildings all day.

Keep the Look Seasonal. For example, choose mini skirt or loose shorts a vest or leather booties. Regardless of what bottoms you choose, make it a point to keep whatever area you aren’t wearing in leather lighter in colour and fabric.

Stylish Ways to Wear a Plain White T-Shirt

The white t-shirt is without question one of the most underrated pieces in our wardrobe, and chances are, we probably already have a few of them kicking around so we don’t need to go out an blow more money.

There's nothing quite like a white T-shirt. It's versatile, it's cool, and it's a piece that's able to be worn any day of the year, in any season. Perfect for layering or to wear with a variety of wardrobe essentials, the plain white tee always looks fresh, clean and classic.

That said, there's something about summer that makes the white tee especially necessary, as it can anchor statement pieces such as wildly-printed shorts or coloured jeans, add a casual element to silky, beaded, or even sequin skirts, or simply just convey a sense of summer ease with a pair of blue denim cutoff shorts or a basic pair of overalls.

Brightly colored necklaces with funky geometric shapes add a touch of girly flair. You can also try the black-and-white look with black jewelry.

Add a cool belt with a big buckle that stands out. You can wear it around your waist, or wear a low rise one around your hips.

Jackets, vests, cardigans and scarves are great for dressing up a plain shirt!
